Kalkeri Sangeet Vidyalaya - Monthly Newsletter

Welcome to the November Newsletter. This month, we made great progress on the path project, conducted staff training sessions before the children returned from their holidays, celebrated a birthday, celebrated Children's Day, made significant advancements with the Annadaan Campaign, witnessed several students perform at the District Level of the annual Pratibha Karangi competition, and all this took place amongst lots of our regular activities including a Manch Pradharsan session.

We hope that you enjoy catching up with our news from November at KSV?

Much Love

The KSV Family

Our Benefactors

This month, our benefactors in the spotlight are Insolite Batisseur Philippe Romero Foundation from France. The Insolite Bâtisseur Philippe Romero Foundation which was founded in 2009 is committed to preserving the environment, protecting populations and fostering development and wishes to encourage tourism companies to share its values.

The Insolite Bâtisseur Philippe Romero Foundation has been supporting KSV with an annual financial contribution since 2018-19.

All the KSV Family are wholeheartedly thankful to the Insolite Bâtisseur Philippe Romero Foundation for their valuable support.

This Month's Annadaan Donors

This month we were most grateful to receive Annadaan donations from the following people:

Manch Pradharsan

This month, there was one Manch Pradharsan program; all the students gave excellent performances that were greatly appreciated by the students, staff, and volunteers.

The Manch Pradharsan sessions are empowering for the students as they have the opportunity to showcase the outcome of all their hard work and effort, and their Guru’s performances are inspiring for the students which serves to further motivate them onwards in their musical journey.

Annadaan Campaign

In the first month of the campaign, we secured more than 90 new Annadaan donors! Despite the really great start to the campaign we still very much need your valuable support in order to reach, or even exceed, our target of 150 new Annadaan donors.

Staff Training

After three weeks of holidays, the teaching staff and wardens returned to KSV for ten days of training and preparation sessions for the 2nd semester. There was a collective training regarding our discipline policy and positive methods to manage child behaviour. After that, and for the remainder of the training days, the staff had training sessions by department.

The teaching staff, both academic and performing arts, had training sessions in writing learning outcomes, lesson planning, remedial teaching, inter-departmental communication, and assessment methods.

The wardens had training sessions for daily organization, non-violent communication, child safety and improving hostel conditions.

The training sessions are a great opportunity for the different departments to come together for collective activities

Pratibha Karangi

This month, saw some of the KSV students competing at the District Level of the annual Prathibha Karangi inter-school cultural competition. For the Primary School students this was the final level, but for the Secondary School students, if successful, they would have the opportunity to advance to the State Level.

Four groups, and one individual, were successful at the previous stage and had advanced to the District Level:

• Secondary School Dance Group
• Secondary School Drama Group
• Primary School Folk Song Group
• Primary School Patriotic Song Group
• Somayya Pujari (4th Std) – Pick ‘n’ Speak

It is already a wonderful achievement to reach the District Level of this competition so all the concerned students and teachers should feel very proud of their success.

All the groups gave excellent performances on the day, but we are extremely proud of Somayya Pujari who achieved a 1st Place at his event, Pick ‘n’ Speak.

Children's Day

On the 14th November Children's Day is celebrated across India in order increase awareness of the rights, care, and education of children.

Throughout the day there were various games and activities organised for all the children. It’s safe to say that everyone had a great day!

A Birthday Celebration

At the start of the semester, we were most happy to welcome Mannepalli Apparao and his family to the KSV campus. Fourteen years ago, and on the occasion of his son’s, Sainandan’s, 1st birthday, Apparao Ji had made a significant and generous donation to KSV which enabled us to construct the Yogashala. Now, fourteen years later, they returned to KSV to celebrate Sainandan’s 15th birthday.

We had a wonderful gathering on the day which included welcoming previous members of the KSV staff. We conducted a birthday puja for Sainandan which was followed by several music and dance performances by the KSV students.

We are most grateful to Apparao Ji and his family all the support that they have extended to KSV over the years.

This Path Project - An Update

The Footpath project, that is being generously funded by L'Orphelinat and Husky, has been making great progress, and is all but finished. The majority of the path has been laid, and there are now just a few sections to tidy up before we can say that Phase One is complete.

Once further funding is secured we will commence Phase Two which will see us laying a footpath in the school's accommodation area.

All of the KSV Family are extremely grateful to L'Orphelinat and Husky for their valuable support in this project.
