| Fuelling Growth with Danfoss |
|
|
We are tremendously grateful for the invaluable, sustained support we have received for several years from our primary benefactor, Danfoss Power Solutions India. We cherish the strong partnership we have built. Danfoss is currently funding an important reconstruction project for our senior girls and small boys hostels. We look forward to providing updates on the progress of this project in our next newsletter.
In addition to funding the hostel project, Danfoss has also generously contributed 14,60,000 INR which will cover one meal per day for all students throughout the 2023-24 school year. This vital support enables us to provide nutritious meals for all our students.
Danfoss, founded in 1933 by engineer Mads Clausen, is a global company headquartered in Denmark with around 42,000 employees worldwide. Danfoss Power Solutions India, a subsidiary of the Denmark-based Danfoss Group, is at the forefront of developing advanced solutions for India’s urbanisation and electrification.
We are sincerely thankful to the team at Danfoss Power Solutions India for their steadfast, meaningful support of KSV. Their contributions significantly enable our mission to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children. We eagerly look forward to continuing our fruitful partnership with Danfoss in the years ahead. 💜 |

Celebrating Musical Excellence |
|
|
Marking the 60th birth anniversary of Himanshu Roy, we take immense pride in unveiling the recipients of the 2023 Himanshu Roy Award for Excellence in Music: the accomplished students Sohil Sayed and Rahul Patil. Sohil and Rahul, who play harmonium and tabla respectively, have both exhibited an unwavering dedication and profound passion for Hindustani classical music throughout their educational journey. 💜🏆💜
These exceptional talents, Sohil and Rahul, have been presented with certificates of merit along with musical instruments that will further bolster their pursuit of advanced musical education. Their well-deserved recognition is a testament to their exceptional skill and commitment. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both of them for this remarkable achievement.
The annual Himanshu Roy Award stands as a tribute to Himanshu Roy himself and serves as a platform to acknowledge students who exhibit exceptional musical performance, devotion, and dedication.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce that Rahul has been bestowed with the esteemed Scholarship to Young Artistes, a highly regarded national music scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture. This accolade, granted to only 400 young artists across India between the ages of 18 and 25, is a resounding validation of Rahul's outstanding talent and unwavering dedication. This remarkable achievement adds another milestone to Rahul's journey, and we couldn't be prouder. 💜🏆💜

Making an Impact: Our Valued Volunteers |
|
|
In recent months, we've been truly fortunate to welcome a dedicated group of volunteers whose impact on our students' daily lives has been nothing short of remarkable.
Romane Martinage, who graciously extended her commitment from the previous academic year, played a pivotal role in not only overseeing our volunteers but also actively engaging with students both within the hostels and classrooms.
Hailing from Laval University in Quebec, Gabrielle Page and Marie-Catherine Gemme joined us as interns and undertook a 9-week health and welfare internship. Collaborating with Heidi Thibault, who supervised their internship, they focused on nurturing student health, overall well-being, and nursing care in the newly renovated Bobo House, made possible by the generous support of AMISTAD CASIRA.
Our volunteers have consistently been a cornerstone of our students' growth and development over the years, and their contributions remain invaluable. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support they provide, which continues to enrich the lives of our students in immeasurable ways. 💜

Discovery & Development Sessions |
|
|
A dynamic enhancement for this academic year involves the revamp of our Saturday morning classes, now reimagined as Discovery and Development Sessions. These engaging sessions are designed to align with our core values of Integrity, Compassion, Equity, Cooperation, and Achievement. They ignite curiosity through a blend of visits, documentaries, guest speakers, and more.
In the recent period, students have embarked on intriguing trips to the Agriculture University, an organic farm, a silkworm farm, a dairy farm, and even a honey farm. We have held inspiring presentations covering a wide spectrum of subjects, such as yoga, virtual reality, local governance, health, hygiene, girls' empowerment, citizenship and current affairs. The students have also had the opportunity to participate in several activities including making & distributing seed-bombs, clay modelling and forest-art mandalas.
In the forthcoming weeks and months, our ambition is to expand these activities further, providing our students with immersive experiences that nurture self-discovery and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Through these sessions, we strive to equip our students with invaluable insights and exposure that will empower them to thrive personally and globally. |

Celebrating Guru Purnima, a cherished occasion dedicated to spiritual and academic mentors, our Manch Pradharshan event which provides an opportunity for the students to shine by showcasing their talents and acquired knowledge, which in turn fosters a sense of self-assurance and confidence was the perfect platform for us to celebrate this occasion.
In addition to captivating student performances, our staff shared insightful experiences, underlining the profound importance of Guru Purnima and the role of teachers in shaping lives. This event was a testament to our commitment to nurturing both holistic learning and a deep reverence for the guiding forces in our educational journey. |

Bangalore Trip Builds Bonds |
|
|
In July, students were thrilled to be invited by sponsors Ankit and Priyanka to Bangalore for their daughter’s birthday. The students gave a short performance at the celebrations.
Whilst in the city we took the opportunity to visit the SELCO Foundation, one of our major benefactors. Our students gave a lively performance for the SELCO team at their office. 🤝
The Bangalore visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to share their talents while forming relationships with sponsors and supporters. We are thankful to Ankit and Priyanka for including our students in this memorable celebration, and to SELCO for hosting us at their place of work. 🥳 |
